Just as the ocean connects the many islands of Moana Pasifika, it connects us to the places Pasifika people have made new homes. Aotearoa, Australia, Japan, the USA. Our ocean has carried us to new lives and new opportunities. But no matter how far we travel, we still hear a call. It speaks to something deep in our DNA. We are Moana Pasifika. Moana Pasifika is us.

It is a call to our pride in our people and our potential. For many of us, sport has been the wave that has lifted us up and carried us to success beyond a sporting code, in business, education, social enterprise and new cultural ventures. As both a sports team and a movement, our vision is for Moana Pasifika to be that rising wave for all Pasifika people, lifting us all up and improving all of our lives.

That’s why, from the very start, we’ve set up Moana Pasifika as a not-for-profit organisation that will put everything we can back into our Pasifika communities. That’s why Moana Pasifika has been designed, built and run by Pasifika people. And that’s why the Moana Pasifika Super Rugby franchise is unlike any other professional sports organisation in the world.

Our mission is to champion the awesome power of Pasifika people and culture, and put it on a global stage. To encourage participation in sport. And to develop and support our youth. Pasifika people have always been at our best when we work as one for the common good. Our Super Rugby franchise is the starting point of our movement, but we hope to expand into new sporting codes and new ventures as our wave rises. Our focus will always be on improving the lives of all Pasifika people.
