Faiilagi extends future with Moana Pasifika

One of the heroes of Moana Pasifika’s breakout season in 2025, Miracle Faiilagi, has re-signed for the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season.

Faiilagi returns for his fourth season with the club, after becoming the first Samoan to be recruited directly from the Pacific Islands into a Super Rugby team, making his debut in 2023.

The 25-year-old has become a pivotal figure for Moana Pasifika especially in 2025 where he had a standout campaign, earning him Attacking Player of the Year alongside Kyren Taumoefolau.

In 13 appearances this year, Faiilagi recorded 8 tries, 766 carry metres and 31 tackle breaks. This included a hat-trick in Moana Pasifika’s win over the Hurricanes.

Whether it was busting through tackles with unyielding force or his strength on defence, Faiilagi’s impact was constant.

“I love the culture and people here at Moana Pasifika,” Faiilagi said.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead. This year people have witnessed what we can do and in 2026 it will be about continuing to believe in ourselves, working hard and having faith collectively.”

Head coach Fa’alogo Tana Umaga said: “Miracle is an exceptional talent and he really elevated his game this year. He cares about the team and works very hard behind the scenes which has seen him reap the rewards.

“He’s a huge part of our Moana Pasifika movement and we’re grateful to have him back again next year.”
