Moana Pasifika’s rising star Miracle Faiilagi will return for their battle of the bridge clash against the Blues on Saturday afternoon at Eden Park.
Faiilagi will start at blindside flanker after recovering from a hamstring injury, forming a potent loose forward trio with Ardie Savea and Semisi Tupou Ta’eiloa.
Experienced playmaker Jackson Garden-Bachop moves into the starting fly-half role, pairing up with Manu Samoa international Melani Matavao who earns his maiden start of the year at halfback.
Pepesana Patafilo starting at left wing will also be a welcome return, following his impressive performance against the Crusaders in Round 7.
The team is also excited to welcome back their Moana Man of 2024, Sione Havili Talitui and influential leader James Lay off the bench.
‘Ikale Tahi halfback Aisea Halo will also bring impact off the bench.
Head coach Fa’alogo Tana Umaga said: “Our focus like any other week will be executing our game plan and putting up a performance that our team and fans can be proud of. We welcome back some key players this week and are glad to have their expertise in the mix.
“We’ve had a good couple of weeks, but we want to stay consistent and keep building on that. We know the Blues will be up for the challenge and we’re looking forward to it.”
