Nippy winger Neria Fomai has extended his contract with Moana Pasifika for the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season.
The 32-year-old returns for his fourth campaign with the organisation.
Fomai has played for both the Manu Samoa Sevens and Fifteen a side teams.
The Hawke’s Bay Magpies back has a powerful running game and is always looking for ways to get involved and support his teammates.
Moana Pasifika is excited to welcome Fomai back after he was ruled out for most of the 2024 season with injury.
Fomai expressed his desire to remain with the club and to help them reach new heights.
“I’ve enjoyed the friendships made and the celebration of our different cultures over my last three years with Moana Pasifika,” said Fomai.
“I’m hoping to achieve more success on top of last season and to reach the playoffs. There’s a lot of belief in our group but it’s not a given. We need to work hard in preseason to get to a place where we can compete week in and week out.”
Head Coach of Moana Pasifika, Fa’alogo Tana Umaga said: “Neria’s talent, physicality and experience makes him a valuable member of our team.”
“He has the ability to connect with his teammates on and off the field, and really embraces his identity and culture which is what Moana Pasifika is all about.”
