It will be free entry to Moana Pasifika’s first ever game at their new long-term home – North Harbour Stadium – when they host the Highlanders in a preseason match at 1pm on Friday 31st January.
Head Coach Fa’alogo Tana Umaga says the team is looking forward to welcoming fans to their Albany base, which is a one-stop shop in terms of training and recovery facilities.
“We’re excited to have a place to call ours,” Umaga said. “We’ve enjoyed training at the world class facilities so it will be awesome to play a game here.
“We’re ready and we know our fans have been waiting a long time for this.
“The Highlanders are always a tough match up so it’ll be good to test our combinations and see where we’re at. It will also be good to get out on the pitch before we play our home games at North Harbour during the season.”
The teams will meet again at the same venue on Friday 28th February in DHL Super Rugby Pacific’s Cultural Round. It will be an occasion not to be missed with a carnival of music, food, activities and more lined up.
Moana Pasifika will play four other fixtures at North Harbour, against the Hurricanes on March 8, Waratahs on April 5, Fijian Drua on April 26 and Blues on May 17.
