Moana Pasifika have locked in show-stopping duo Lotu and Fine Inisi for the 2025 season.
The brothers have been pivotal figures in the Moana Pasifika organisation since its inception in 2022.
Fans have become accustomed to watching Utility back Fine, and Number 8 Lotu light up the park with outstanding performances. They were joint recipients of Moana Pasifika’s Fans’ Player of the Year Award in 2024.
Ruthless back rower Inisi is coming off his best season where he finished 8th in the competition for the most defenders beaten (44) in the regular season. He was the only forward in this category.
Lotu also tallied 355.3 post contact metres and took home three individual awards at Moana Pasifika’s Prize-giving. The 25-year-old was named Forward of the Year, Attacker of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year.
In 2024 electrifying back Fine played in nine matches, scoring four tries and was a regular in the starting lineup.
Whether it was putting defenders on skates with his blistering footwork or busting through tackles with sheer power, the 26-year-old made his presence felt whenever he was on the park.
The Inisi’s are quiet achievers who let their play make all the noise. The pair continue their journey on the same team, having also played together for North Harbour and the ‘Ikale Tahi.
Head Coach of Moana Pasifika, Tana Umaga, acknowledged the Inisi’s contribution to the team.
“Being able to re-sign Fine and Lotu is really positive for us as we know they had a bit of interest overseas. They grew so much this season and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow next season,” said Umaga.
“We are very happy that they’ve decided to stay with us and help raise us to another level in 2025.”
