Inisi Brothers Re-Signed for 2024

Moana Pasifika are thrilled to have secured the services of brothers Fine and Lotu Inisi for the 2024 season. The pair have etched themselves into franchise history as the first set of siblings to represent the team.

Hailing from the villages of Longoteme (Tongatapu) & Fangale’ounga (Ha’apai) in Tonga and Falelatai in Samoa, the ‘Ikale Tahi internationals have been with Moana Pasifika since the franchise’s inaugural year and have grown tremendously during their tenure.

Fine, the older of the two, is currently in France with the Tongan National Team preparing for the Rugby World Cup 2023. Comfortable at centre or on the wing, the 25-year-old proved that he could perform in either position. One of his biggest attributes for Moana Pasifika in 2023 was his ability to provide energy off the bench. In Rounds 10 and 11, Fine came off the bench to score a double in back-to-back weeks.

Younger brother and dynamic loose forward Lotu Inisi made six appearances for Moana Pasifika in 2023 and put in a solid performance with each opportunity. Averaging 15 carries a game, Lotu’s involvement with ball in hand was among the highest in the competition per 80 minutes. The 23-year old is currently playing in his fifth season for North Harbour in the Bunnings NPC and has been in impressive form.

The pair have similar rugby CV’s, having played in every professional rugby team together. From international duties for Tonga’s fifteen-a-side and seven-a-side teams, to the North Harbour Heat and Warriors Under 20s, they have continued to grow their skillset in tandem.

The Inisi brothers bring an infectious level of enthusiasm to the team environment and have garnered a large fan-following. The Moana Pasifika organisation is pleased to welcome them back for the next season.
