On Saturday, 18 January Moana Pasifika hosted their annual Touch Tournament at Auckland’s Otahuhu College Memorial Grounds.
The tournament saw family, social and club teams come together for an exciting day of footy and activities.
Moana Pasifika Events Coordinator Sera Mika says: “We were proud to host our annual Touch Tournament which is becoming one of the biggest events on our community calendar.”
“It’s about encouraging and giving the chance for our Pasifika people to be active, have fun and feel a part of our Moana family.”
“We had a family zone with games for kids, a DJ on the decks, some entertaining footy and it was overall a successful day for everyone involved,” Mika said.
15 teams competed with nearly 700 people coming together for the event.
Moana Pasifika Assistant Coach and former Wales rugby star Stephen Jones also played in the tournament. While Moana Pasifika players attended the event, getting involved in games and taking part in tik tok dances.
Harbour Sport won in the social category while 2FRESH won the open grade.
