Moli re-signs for two years

Potent hooker Samiuela Moli has committed to Moana Pasifika’s future, re-signing until the end of the 2026 season.

Moli returns for his fourth season with the club, making his debut against the Crusaders in Round Three of the 2022 season.

The 25-year-old has become a pillar of the Moana Pasifika front row, consistently performing to a high level every week. This saw him play in 13 of 14 matches during the 2024 season.

The hooker is well on his way to reaching the 50 match milestone in Super Rugby this upcoming season.

He plays for the Tasman Mako in the Bunnings NPC and was part of the 2020 championship winning team.

Moli has ties to the villages of Te’ekiu (Tongatapu) and Leimatu’a (Vava’u), and represented the ‘Ikale Tahi at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Moli said: “Playing for Moana Pasifika these last three years has been a huge opportunity for me to find my own identity. It’s also been a privilege to represent my culture and family.”

“Our story is still being written and I can’t wait to get to work. I believe we have the right people to go even further in 2025, and I’m excited for what’s to come.”

Head Coach of Moana Pasifika, Fa’alogo Tana Umaga is excited to have Moli back in Moana colours.

“Samiu has been a key figure for us in the front row. He’s been a consistent performer, a dominant force around the field and has shown a tremendous work ethic. He’s also developing into a leader for us both on and off the field,” said Umaga.

“Re-signing for another two years shows his commitment to the team and to our vision. We’re thrilled to have him continue his journey with us.”
