Halfback
Augustine Pulu was born in Auckland, New Zealand and attended Wesley College.
Pulu began his career with the Karaka Rugby Football Club, debuting for the premier side in 2008.
In 2012, he helped the Counties Manukau Steelers win the ITM Cup Championship.
He joined the Chiefs wider squad for the 2012 Super Rugby season and was then named in the full squad for the 2013 season. He played a significant role in their 2013 championship, off the bench. He remained with the Chiefs until 2015, making 51 appearances. His incredible form in 2014, saw him called into the All Blacks to cover for the injured Tawera Kerr-Barlow. He made his test debut in the 59th minute of a 74-6 victory over USA in Chicago.
In 2015 Pulu played for the New Zealand Sevens side, making his debut in the Dubai series and was part of the 2016 Olympics team.
In 2017, he returned to the 15 a side game and joined the Blues. He started for the Blues against the British and Irish Lions in that year, helping them to a 22-16 win. He became captain for the team in 2018.
After 88 Super Rugby appearances, Pulu moved to Japan in 2019 to play for the Hino Red Dolphins in Japan spending six seasons with the club.
Pulu then returned home and signed with Moana Pasifika in November 2025
