Michael Curry is a hard-working forward with the versatility to switch between lock and flanker.
He was born in American Samoa and moved to Samoa with his family when was two years old. At 15 he moved to New Zealand and attended Nelson College where he was part of the First XV and played age grade for Tasman.
In the Bunnings NPC he has played for the Tasman Mako, North Harbour and currently for Auckland.
Curry has overcome his fair share of adversity including a serious back injury and rupturing his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) a few times.
Before covid he spent a short time with the Colorado Raptors in the USA, and then played a season with Toyota Shokki in Japan.
He made his international debut for Manu Samoa in 2022 against Tonga and helped them to win the Pacific Nations Cup title.
Curry is the oldest of ten children and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Massey University.
His sister Michelle has played for the Manu Sina team and was recently named in the 2025 Queensland Reds Wider Training Squad.
