Hooker
Millennium Sanerivi was born and raised in Mangere, South Auckland. He is the youngest of five children and is of Samoan descent. He grew up playing rugby league and made the switch to rugby union when he was in his second year of College, on a scholarship at Kings College.
Sanerivi loved accounting in school and went on to study Business, and worked for an accounting firm. He and his partner welcomed their first child three weeks before he made his Moana Pasifika debut against the Western Force in Round One of the 2025 season.
Sanerivi captained the Kings College First XV and played as a loose forward.
In 2019, he moved to Taranaki out of High School and switched to the hooker position. From 2021-2023 he played for Taranaki in NPC, making a total of 19 appearances.
He then took his game abroad, playing two seasons for the New England Free Jacks in Major League Rugby.
In 2024 he received his first Super Rugby opportunity being part of the Chiefs development side. It was a baptism of fire for Sanerivi who was then called in to make his debut in the Super Rugby Grand Final against the Blues, with injuries to multiple Chiefs’ hookers. In the same year, Sanerivi returned to Auckland to play in NPC.
Moana Pasifika coaches spotted Sanerivi while he was playing for Auckland and he signed a two-year development contract starting in 2025. He was then propelled into a starting role, making his debut for the team in Round One against the Western Force in Perth. Since that first match, Sanerivi was a regular starter, impressing with his powerful play and consistent performances.
Sanerivi was named in Manu Samoa’s squad for their final qualification tournament for the 2027 Rugby World Cup, marking his first international campaign.
