Entering his third year with Moana Pasifika is versatile back Danny Toala. At just 24 years old, Toala has been with the team since its inaugural year in 2021, and has been a highly regarded prospect since High School. The National Top 4 winner with Hastings Boys was signed in 2019 to the Hurricanes, making his Super Rugby debut in Johannesburg. With five years of NPC experience with Hawkes Bay, Toala is also another member of Moana Pasifika with international experience. Representing the Manu Samoa at the recent Rugby World Cup 2023, Toala has 13 appearances for his nation. The elusive utility has been a key member of the Moana Pasifika backline, slotting in to multiple positions whenever needed. Now as one of the squads more experienced campaigners, Toala will be a leader for Moana Pasifika in 2024.
